A recent visit to Copenhagen - primarily for Gill to further her potting skills on a course with a master of minimal ceramics at Tortus. We'll be posting the results of her endeavours here soon.
We're pleased to report that this city's reputation for great design, architecture and food proved well deserved...and it demonstrated just how cycle friendly a city can be!
West of England Design Forum has a vision to create a dynamic, vibrant and engaged local design community in the region... and we're lucky enough to be involved.
Through WEDF we've been privileged to hear and meet some amazing speakers – including the legendary typographer Erik Spiekermann and designers Jim Sutherland and Craig Oldham – inspiring us with some of their self-initiated projects.
Gill is now the proud owner of a screen print by Craig 'celebrating' the miner's strike – printed in Coal Dust. Black coal on black paper – it's subtle but significant!
A favourite place for a Sunday outing is Hauser and Wirth near Bruton in Somerset. The architecture, stunning gardens and the quality of lunch at the quirky bar are reason enough to come.
It's definitely Art with a capital 'A' in the galleries... but we loved the exhibition of sculpture by the late Elisabeth Frink.
After years of just flying through the airport at Malaga we found time for a proper visit and discovered a fabulous city... beautiful buildings, a laid back vibe and the most perfect waterfront restaurant (ask nicely we'll let you know where it is!) oh....and a nice bit of Art.
