From an initial conversation with the medical staff at Southmead Hospital Intensive Care Unit about the need to brighten up the corridors and improve the way-finding, we developed an integrated set of graphics and infographics, from wall art to leaflets, that will orientate, inform and engage.
Clear signage and simple explanations with ‘non clinical’ text and images all aim to reduce the visitor experience and the anxiety for family, carers and patients at what can be a difficult and stressful time.
The design also brightens up the space for medical staff, and has proved to be a taking point.
The feedback we have had from staff at Southmead, and other hospitals all over the country after a tweet and images of our work by the ICU Management team, has been fantastic.
We are hopeful we can develop our ideas to improve other wards and departments elsewhere.
“I am really happy with the leaflet and the graphics. They look amazing.”
