A new collection of landscape paintings inspired by the landscapes of North Somerset and the Serranía de Ronda in Málaga.

Some of these works are interpretations of particular places; others take their inspiration more broadly from a location, a skyscape or a mood.

Often, the creation of an image is led by the process of painting itself – I might be seduced by the texture or energy of a brushmark, or led by a colour combination observed in the landscape or simply on my palette.

Some of these paintings sit between observation and abstraction, with the process of painting becoming part of the subject itself.
